Description

Mandatory Skills and Experience

Proficient/advanced skills in CABG procedures, including on-pump and off-pump cases.
Open-heart surgery.
TAVR and open valve replacement.
Thoracic surgery, including lung resections and thoracoscopies.
Must be willing to accept call.
Pennsylvania RN license/eligibility and required certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Robotic lung surgery experience.
Charge nurse experience.
Level I trauma experience.

Schedule and Call Requirements

Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM.
Weekday call: 3:00 PM–7:00 AM.
Weekend call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
Weekend coverage every other weekend/as needed.
Call is reportedly infrequent, but accepting call is mandatory.
Weekly orientation takes place on Mondays.

Required Pennsylvania Background Clearances

Candidates must have complete and clear screenings before starting. Fingerprints must be submitted/uploaded before clearance.

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
Department of Human Services fingerprinting.
FBI/Department of Aging fingerprinting; previous fingerprinting is accepted if completed within the last two years.
PA State Police PATCH clearance — employment clearance required; volunteer clearance is not accepted.

Target experienced Cardiovascular OR RNs with strong CABG, open-heart, valve replacement, TAVR, and thoracic surgery experience. General OR experience alone will not be sufficient.
