Title: Registered Nurse – PCU/Neuro Tele

Location: Lubbock, TX 79410

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night, 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hrs/week

Requirements:

• 2 years of RN experience
• PCU/Step Down and Telemetry experience
• 1:4 patient ratio experience
• Epic experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management experience
• Experience titrating cardiac drips
• Comfortable floating between units
• Every other weekend required; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Compact RN license in hand at submission

Description:

• Provide nursing care to patients in a 29-bed Neuro Tele/PCU unit with a 1:4 ratio.
• Care for patients with TIA/stroke, epilepsy, trauma, neurosurgical conditions, and subdural hematomas.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret/manage dysrhythmias.
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips, including Cardene and heparin, with capability to manage additional drips.
• Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed.
• Manage central and peripheral lines and administer blood products.
• Provide oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management.
• Collaborate with physicians, PT, OT, speech therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary teams.
• Float between units based on facility needs and scope of practice.
• Document patient care in Epic within a fast-paced acute-care environment.
