Description
Type of patients on the unit: Primarily adult echo with occasional pediatric telemed
SHIFT: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
Licenses, Registrations or Certifications
Must have one of the following certifications:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) granted by ARDMS
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) granted by CCI
- Registered Vascular Sonographer granted by ARDMS or CCI, with at least two (2) years of echo experience.
- Current BLS certification via AHA required
Weekend Requirement: Weekend is rotating every 5th week
On Call Requirement: On call 1 week every 5th week
Nurse / Patient Ratio: Average 6-8 echos per day
Dress Code: Scrub color is galaxy blue or royal blue
Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Cardiovascular and Bariatric Services, the Echocardiogram Technician Registered is responsible for performing various non-invasive cardiovascular procedures and functions. The technician is expected to function in an expedient and professional manner and to display positive behavior when interacting with patients, family members, physicians and co-workers.
Requirements:
Education/Skills
- Educational training in Non-invasive Cardiology areas; basic arrhythmia and advanced arrhythmia training.
Experience
- 2 years’ experience in the field of Cardiovascular Ultrasound and Non-invasive procedures.
