Description

ob Summary The Behavioral Health Clinician is a fully licensed mental health professional responsible for providing comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals experiencing homelessness within an emergency shelter setting. This position serves as a key member of the shelter's interdisciplinary team, providing clinical assessments, behavioral health interventions, crisis response, treatment planning, consultation, and ongoing therapeutic support to shelter residents. The clinician conducts biopsychosocial assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, facilitates individual and group counseling sessions, and supports participants in addressing mental health, substance use, trauma, and other behavioral health needs. The clinician provides crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed, including evaluation and response to suicide risk, psychiatric decompensation, and other behavioral health emergencies. In addition to direct clinical services, this position provides clinical consultation and guidance to shelter staff, helping inform case direction, service planning, and interventions for residents with complex behavioral health needs. The clinician collaborates closely with case managers, housing specialists, medical providers, community partners, and program leadership to ensure coordinated and effective care. The Behavioral Health Clinician assists residents in accessing community-based behavioral health, medical, and supportive services, while promoting housing stability, wellness, recovery, and self-sufficiency. Populations served include individuals experiencing homelessness, those with serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, histories of trauma, and other vulnerable populations residing within the shelter. This position requires independent clinical judgment, strong crisis management skills, and the ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care in a fast-paced shelter environment. Current unrestricted licensure in the State of Colorado (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) is required.
