Travel Respiratory Therapist (RT) – Job Summary

Facility: UVA Health Children's Hospital Location: Charlottesville,  Specialty: Respiratory Therapist – NICU/PICU/Pediatrics Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Schedule: 4 × 12-hour shifts Contract: 52 weeks (364 days) Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week available 

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1 year; Level IV NICU experience required.
• Preferred: Cardiac PICU experience and ACCS certification.
• Certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP required; PALS listed in the qualifications.
• License: Virginia RT license required. Pending license accepted if obtained by the Wednesday before start. Another state license is required to qualify for a temporary VA license.
• Epic experience: Required unless otherwise specified.
• Flu vaccine: Required; no exemptions.
• COVID vaccine: Not required.
• References: Required.
• Nursys verification: Required at submission.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care in the Level IV NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute-care pediatrics.
• Care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
• Manage ventilators, including high-frequency jet ventilation and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation.
• Perform airway management, intubation assistance, suctioning, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, and HFNC.
• Interpret ABGs and manage complex respiratory conditions.
• Work across all units of the Children's Hospital.
