Description
Registered Nurse (Med/Surg)
Location: Des Moines, IA
Start Date: November 23, 2026
Contract: 13 weeks, with possible extension
Shift: Nights, 4×12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Requirements:
- Minimum 24 months of Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
- Post-operative surgical experience highly preferred
- Experience caring for patients undergoing hip/knee procedures, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries highly preferred
- PCA and Heparin experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- BLS (AHA) required
- Valid driver's license required
- Iowa state license required; compact license accepted
Scheduling:
- Night shifts, 4×12-hour shifts
- Guaranteed 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday requirement: Unless the unit is closed, the contractor must work 1–2 of the following 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day
- Call/standby requirement: None
- Floating: Required across campuses and units to similar units
