Description
Position Overview
WVU Medicine is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for its 10 East Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. This acute-care unit provides care to higher-acuity neuroscience patients, including stroke, seizure, epilepsy monitoring, and post-craniotomy patients.
2 years RN Stepdown/PCU experience needed
BLS, ACLS & NIHSS needed
Assignment Details
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Hours: 48 hours per week (4 × 12-hour shifts)
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Yes, participation in holiday rotation
- Orientation: 2 unit-specific shifts
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- BSN Required: No
Unit Details
- Total Beds: 31 (25 Stepdown and 6 EMU)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 in Stepdown and 1:5–6 in EMU
- Charge Nurse: Available 24/7
- Nurse Aides: Available on each shift
- Telemetry: Available; nurses are not required to interpret strips
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
