Shift: 12-hour nights
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Experience Required: 1 year of ICU experience
Charting System: EPIC
Orientation: 12 hours non-billable (facility notes also specify 20 hours; confirm with facility)

Required Certifications & License:

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification/experience required per unit skills

Unit Details & Clinical Requirements:

• 18-bed Neuro ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients with strokes (with/without tPA), ventriculostomies, and post-craniectomy needs
• Required skills include ventilator management, arterial and central lines, acute stroke management, and ventriculostomy care
• Must be able to titrate IV drips and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Travelers float first and may float to intermediate-care and general units (ratios: 1:3 intermediate, 1:4 general)

Scheduling Requirements:

• Every other weekend
• Rotating holidays, including every other holiday
• No specified call requirement
• Travelers are first to float

OSF Policies & Submission Requirements:

• Candidates with permanent addresses within 50 miles are subject to local rates ($25 reduction to regular and OT bill rates)
• Facility may call off up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty or payment for the shift
• 12 hours of orientation are non-billable; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• OSF is a drug-free campus; a negative all-panel drug screen is required
