Job Description

Seeking an Infection Prevention professional to provide infection control services, monitor compliance with infection prevention practices, and support patient and staff safety. The selected candidate will conduct rounds, review records, consult with healthcare staff, attend meetings, and prepare reports.
 

Responsibilities

• Conduct infection prevention rounds and review patient records.
• Monitor healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and surgical site infections.
• Support infection surveillance, disease reporting, and trend identification.
• Promote hand hygiene, PPE use, isolation precautions, and environmental cleaning.
• Provide consultation and education to healthcare staff on infection prevention practices.
• Support prevention of blood-borne pathogen exposures and sharps injuries.
• Follow CDC guidelines, NHSN standards, and applicable infection prevention requirements.
• Attend meetings and prepare and present reports.
• Float to Alameda facilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, per travel compliance guidelines.
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices and healthcare-associated infections.
• Familiarity with surveillance, disease reporting, isolation precautions, and infection control procedures.
• Ability to review records, communicate recommendations, and prepare reports.
• Two supervisor references preferred.

• Schedule: 5x8-hour day shifts.
• Floating: May be required to Alameda locations.
• Radius Rule: 75 miles.
• COVID-19 vaccination: Required; medical or religious exemptions only.
