Position Overview

Aspirus Medford Hospital is seeking an experienced Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) for a 13-week contract providing care across hospital inpatient and skilled nursing facility (SNF) settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience treating adult and geriatric patients with a variety of orthopedic, neurological, and functional mobility conditions. We are looking for a dedicated, adaptable therapist who can work effectively across care settings and help patients improve their functional independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate adult and geriatric patients to assess functional abilities and occupational therapy needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions for patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions.
• Support improvements in mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and functional independence.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient outcomes accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Provide occupational therapy services in hospital inpatient and skilled nursing facility settings.
• Promote patient safety and follow established clinical standards and protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin Occupational Therapist (OT) license required.
• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
• Experience working with adult and geriatric populations.
• Experience treating patients with orthopedic, neurological, and functional mobility diagnoses.
• Epic documentation experience highly preferred.

Schedule and Work Requirements

• Monday through Friday.
• Eight-hour day shifts.
• Variable start times, typically between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
• 40 guaranteed hours per week.
• No regular weekend requirements.
• No floating requirements.

On-Call and Low-Census Policy

• Travelers may be placed on call during low-census periods.
• On-call hours assigned for low census count toward the contract's 36-hour low-census unbillable allowance.
• If called back to the facility, the traveler is eligible for call-back pay.
• Minimum call-back pay is 2 hours.
