Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Facility Type/Setting: Hospital/Clinic — Psychiatric Care

Facility/Location: Avera Health (specific facility location not provided)

Shift & Schedule: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 × 12-hour shifts

Weekly Hours: 36 hours

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Call/Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Weekends and holidays required

Requirements:

Active South Dakota (SD) or Compact RN license — must be in hand.
BLS certification.
CPI certification.
Flu documentation required; personal and medical declinations are not accepted. Religious declinations will be reviewed by Avera Health.
Previous permanent employees of Avera or Sanford are not eligible for submission.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to patients with mental illness or disabilities.
Assist physicians in caring for patients experiencing psychiatric crises.
Evaluate and monitor patients’ progress with treatment.
Support patients’ care needs in psychiatric hospital or clinic settings.
