Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Kansas City, KS
$50–$57 per Hour | Full-Time | School-Based
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff!
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with autism and emotional/behavioral disorders in the Kansas City, KS area for the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers small classroom settings with dedicated special education teachers and aides, providing a collaborative and supportive environment.
Position Details
- Location: Kansas City, KS area (school site TBD)
- Pay Rate: $50–$57 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, based on school bell schedule
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: May 26, 2027 (estimated)
- Setting: In-person, school-based, special education classrooms
- Caseload: Various grade levels, primarily students with autism and emotional/behavioral disorders
- Classroom Support: Small classes with a special education teacher and aide available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with diverse communication and behavioral needs.
- Conduct evaluations and speech, language, and hearing screenings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education program (IEP) goals.
- Support students with autism, social communication challenges, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
- Collaborate closely with special education teachers, classroom aides, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
- Adapt therapy strategies to meet individual student needs across various grade levels.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders required.
- Active Kansas SLP license required.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
- Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be open to working with students across all grade levels.
- Flexible with school assignments and varying bell schedules.
- Comfortable supporting students with autism and significant emotional/behavioral needs.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
