Job Title: Special Education Teacher – PreK–Kindergarten

Facility Type/Setting: School-Based Special Education

Shift & Schedule: Traditional K–12 school schedule

Weekly Hours: 37.5

Contract Length: 30 Weeks

Requirements:

• Must be fully licensed.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Teaching license or eligibility for a teaching license with the appropriate subject-area endorsement.
• Knowledge of specialized curricula and individualized teaching methodologies.
• Proficiency with multimedia and assistive technology to support diverse learning needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 22 kindergarten students.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Prepare progress reports, IEP documents, meeting notices, and prior written notices.
• Ensure students receive appropriate special education services in accordance with applicable guidelines.
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans.
• Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary problem-solving teams.
• Supervise, evaluate, schedule, and mentor approximately 4–5 paraprofessionals.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and appropriate services.
• Maintain service documentation and complete required billing records.
• Apply current research and educational practices to instructional planning and decision-making.
