RN, Emergency Department

Location: Georgetown, Kentucky Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: 3rd shift, 3x12s (7p-7a), weekends and holidays as needed Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

The RN delivers patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include:

• Comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, and treatment, with attention to each patient's culture, age, and developmental level
• Patient and family education, admission, transfer, and discharge activities, and discharge coordination with Case Management
• Delegating and overseeing care provided by team members
• Recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Participating in unit quality improvement activities and documentation auditing

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience
• ED experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN
• Experience: Previous nursing experience, with solid Emergency Department experience preferred
• Clinical skills: Triage, cardiac and stroke patients, pediatric emergencies, respiratory patients, IV access/phlebotomy, procedural sedation, and stabilization
• Respiratory care: The nursing team handles respiratory treatments and equipment, including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilation.
