RN Emergency Room (ED)

Location: Sparks, Nevada Employment Type: Temporary Contract Length: 12 weeks Shift: 12-hour mid shift (12 hours per day, 36 hours per week)

Schedule

• Mostly mid shifts, with the ability to work a day or night shift
• 12-hour shifts; days vary but are mostly Wednesday and Thursday for mid shifts
• Day shift on weekends, 0645-1915

Role Overview

• Position is for new FED nurses, but candidates must be willing to cover open shifts at other facility locations in the system as needed, based on volume and acuity.
• The ED is fast-paced and treats every type of patient. ED nurses manage critical care skills such as medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusion of blood, and chest tubes.
• Patients range from urgent care (simple procedures) to psych, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients.
• The role coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs to ensure the highest level of safety and quality while promoting a positive patient experience.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nevada
• Emergency Department (ED) experience of 2 years
• Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Cerner
