Job Summary

1. A CT Technologist (CT Tech) is responsible for performing high-quality Computed Tomography (CT) scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The CT Tech operates CT imaging equipment, prepares patients for procedures, ensures patient safety, and produces accurate diagnostic images while following established protocols.
2. Key Responsibilities
   1. Perform CT scans of various body parts, including the head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities.
   2. Review physician orders and patient medical histories before examinations.
   3. Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT procedures.
   4. Administer oral and intravenous contrast media as prescribed and according to facility protocols.
   5. Operate and maintain CT scanning equipment.
   6. Ensure proper radiation safety practices and minimize patient radiation exposure.
   7. Monitor patients during procedures and respond to emergencies.
   8. Evaluate image quality and repeat images when necessary.
   9. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
   10. Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
   11. Follow infection control, HIPAA, and department safety policies.
   12. Perform quality control procedures and report equipment malfunctions.
