Mammography Technologist - Islip, NY

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Islip, New York. This opportunity is in a dedicated breast imaging department where technologists perform mammography exams and support advanced breast imaging procedures, including biopsies and localizations.

Assignment Details

• Location: Islip, NY
• Start Date: Nov 30, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Hours: 40 hours/week
• Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Alternating Saturdays: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Charting System: Epic

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
• Ensure compliance with MQSA standards and facility protocols.
• Assist with breast imaging procedures, including biopsies and localizations.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation within Epic.
• Provide compassionate patient care and education throughout the imaging process.
• Adhere to radiation safety and quality assurance standards.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (R) Certification
• ARRT (M) Mammography Certification
• Active New York State Department of Health License (without expiration date)
• Must have performed 200 mammograms within the last 24 months
• MQSA compliant with all required credentials
• Proof of 40 hours of mammography training
• Proof of 8 hours of digital mammography training
• 24 CME credits in breast mammography completed within the last 2 years
• 8 hours of tomosynthesis (tomography) training

• Documentation from training program or school verifying didactic mammography education
• Training syllabus from mammography coursework
