Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – Travel Contract

Location: Des Moines, IA
Shift: Nights | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 3 (or more, if desired) 12-hour shifts per week
Preferred Schedule: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Call: No call requirements
 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) for a night-shift opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will have experience performing sleep studies, monitoring patients during sleep assessments, and operating polysomnography equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing sleep disorders.

Experience with Philips G3 sleep software and Epic EMR is required.
 

Job Responsibilities

• Perform overnight polysomnographic studies and sleep assessments in accordance with established protocols.
• Prepare patients for sleep studies, explain procedures, and ensure proper sensor and electrode placement.
• Monitor patients throughout sleep studies, including EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation, and airflow.
• Recognize and document abnormal sleep patterns, respiratory events, and other physiological changes.
• Perform CPAP/BiPAP titration studies and other sleep-related procedures as ordered.
• Operate and troubleshoot polysomnography equipment and monitoring systems.
• Utilize Philips G3 sleep software for sleep study acquisition, monitoring, and documentation.
• Document patient information, study results, and clinical observations accurately using Epic EMR.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout overnight procedures.
• Follow infection control standards, equipment maintenance procedures, and department protocols.

Requirements

• Active Iowa license required.
• Current BRPT registration/certification (RPSGT).
• Current BLS certification.
• Previous experience performing polysomnographic studies.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience with Philips G3 sleep software.
• Strong knowledge of sleep study procedures, monitoring techniques, and sleep disorder diagnostics.
