Travel Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) – Level I Trauma | Day Shift

Facility: Jefferson Health
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
 

Job Description

Jefferson Health is seeking an experienced Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) with strong Level I Trauma experience to join its surgical services team.

The ideal candidate must have extensive OR experience with both scrubbing and circulating responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable supporting complex surgical procedures, including cardiac, liver transplant, neurosurgery, orthopedic, and spinal cases.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Perform both scrub and circulating duties in the operating room.
• Assist with complex surgical procedures, including craniotomies, cardiac surgeries, liver transplants, and spinal procedures.
• Support orthopedic trauma and fracture cases.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members.
• Document patient care accurately using Epic.
• Float between assigned Jefferson facilities and surgical services as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience.
• Previous Level I Trauma experience required.
• Previous charge nurse experience required.
• Scrub and circulate experience required.
• Experience with cardiac, liver transplant, craniotomy, and spinal cases.
• Active state RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Level I Trauma course and certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Level II Trauma experience.
• Trauma Level I course and certificate.
• Orthopedic fracture experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience is not required.
• First-time travelers are welcome with appropriate clinical experience.

Schedule & Additional Details

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
• Four 10-hour shifts per week.
• No on-call requirement.
• No holiday requirement.
• Scrubs provided.
• Epic charting system.
• Floating required between Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, and Honickman Center.
• Weekend coverage: 13 shifts per contract.

Important Compliance Requirements

• Valid state license and certifications required at submission.
• BLS certification required.
• References required.
• Time-off requests must be submitted with the initial application.
• Pennsylvania fingerprints and ChildLine clearance may be required.
• Compliance labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing.
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience.
