1. Schedule

• Shift: 8-hour days; start times 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, or occasionally 2:00 PM.
• Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours/week
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Call: Required; 3 weekday calls per 30 days and 1 weekend day (24-hour call) per month.
• Response Time: 30 minutes
• Holidays: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Floating: Pre/Post-Op or PCU within the facility.
• Orientation: 1–2 days with a PACU preceptor.

2. Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery.
• Assess vital signs, airway, oxygenation, pain, and cardiac rhythms.
• Recognize postoperative complications and administer ordered treatments.
• Document care in Cerner.
• Care for orthopedic, general, robotic, neurological, urology, and occasional pediatric dental patients.

3. Requirements

• Active nursing license.
• At least one completed travel assignment.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS, and AHA PALS.
• PACU competency and EKG interpretation skills.
• Two supervisory references: one within 12 months and one within the past 3 years worked; charge nurses accepted.
• Driver’s license copy required at submission.
• Manager interview and passing Relias dysrhythmia exam (maximum two attempts) required before acceptance.
