Travel / 1099 Contract Perfusionist – Texas

Specialty Clinical Solutions | Contract (1099) | Various locations across Texas | Assignments anticipated start date Q1 2027

About Specialty Clinical Solutions

Specialty Clinical Solutions partners with experienced perfusionists to provide contract and interim coverage at hospitals and cardiac surgery programs. As part of the SpecialtyCare family, we connect independent perfusionists with assignments at established, well-supported programs — giving you the flexibility of contract work with the backing of an organization that knows perfusion.

The Opportunity

We are building our network of Texas-licensed perfusionists ahead of upcoming contract needs expected to begin in early 2027. If you hold an active Texas perfusionist license and are open to travel or 1099 assignments, we would like to connect now so you are first in line as assignments are confirmed.

This is a pipeline opening: assignment start dates, locations and lengths will be shared as needs are finalized, and placement may not be immediate.

What You'll Do

  • Provide safe, high-quality perfusion services for adult cardiac surgical procedures, including cardiopulmonary bypass
  • Set up, prime and operate the heart-lung machine and related equipment
  • Manage and support ancillary services as needed, which may include ECMO, IABP, autotransfusion/cell salvage, VAD support and point-of-care testing
  • Monitor patient physiology, blood gases, anticoagulation and hemodynamics, and communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesia and the OR team
  • Maintain accurate perfusion records and follow facility policies, protocols and quality standards
  • Participate in call coverage as required by the assignment
  • Integrate quickly into new teams and environments while maintaining a high standard of patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Texas Perfusionist (PF) license issued by the Texas Medical Board
  • Current Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
  • Graduate of an accredited perfusion education program
  • 2+ years of independent clinical perfusion experience, with strong adult cardiac surgery case experience
  • Current BLS (ACLS preferred)
  • Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor and travel to assignment locations
  • Ability to complete facility credentialing requirements prior to start (background check, health records, references, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior travel, locum or contract perfusion experience
  • ECMO and mechanical circulatory support experience
  • Experience across multiple hospital systems and equipment platforms
  • Additional active state licenses

Assignment Details

  • Employment type: Independent contractor (1099)
  • Location: Texas — specific facilities to be shared as assignments are confirmed
  • Anticipated start: Q1 of 2027
  • Assignment length: To be determined by assignment
  • Schedule: Days / call requirements by assignment
