Job Description – Professional RN Team Lead

Position: Professional RN Team Lead
Shift: 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
 

Position Overview

The Professional RN Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing patient care while ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery. This role requires strong leadership, clinical judgment, critical thinking, time management, delegation, and prioritization skills.

The RN Team Lead collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, advocates for patients, and provides direct patient care as needed.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritize daily patient care activities.
• Demonstrate effective time management, critical thinking, delegation, and prioritization.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in patient conditions.
• Record and report patient status and clinical changes accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Advocate for patients and support patient-centered care.
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately to nursing staff.
• Provide direct patient care when needed.
• Step into the LPN Medication Cart role as needed, based on staffing availability.
• Promote evidence-based practice (EBP) and best practices in patient care.
• Maintain ethical and professional nursing standards within the scope of practice.
• Support the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.
