Shift: Nights, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Position Overview

Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) are needed for per diem shifts at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. This role involves working night shifts with a focus on respiratory and neuro diagnostics.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Pediatric experience required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Two supervisor references from within the last year

Orientation

• 4-hour HR onboarding
• 12-hour unit orientation (based on clinical availability)

Work Details

• Night shifts, 12 hours (1900-0730)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Hunter Green

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• I9 form
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Residency Declaration Form (if applicable)
• Background check (7-year criminal history, SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender registry)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days of start and updated with renewals)
• Employment application and resume
• Two clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Skills checklist (as applicable)
• Internal evaluation if worked over 2 years with the facility
• Education verification and transcript/diploma (required for MT, MLT, and as needed)
• State-specific search for RNs (KY Adult Caregiver Misconduct Registry)

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with remediation process if needed
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (time sensitive, must be completed within 72 hours of signing)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) for subcontractors

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam (initial and annual)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
• TB questionnaire if past positive history
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (9-panel, within last 12 months)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required for 2024-25 season)
• COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required; declination form required if unvaccinated

Facility Specific Requirements

• Completion of Owensboro Health facility application prior to start (hard deadline: Wednesday before start date)
• Completion of 5 onboarding forms after application:

  • Non-Employee Information
  • Badge Information Form
  • Confidentiality Form
  • Non-Employee COVID Vaccine Questionnaire
  • Flu Vaccination Document
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge (no head coverings except glasses)
• Agency badge required
