Job Description

• Position: RN – MS/Tele Float
• Start Date: 3-4 weeks out, biweekly starts
• Patient Ratios:

  • Days/Weekends: 1:5-6
  • Nights: 1:6
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation obligation
• Certifications Required:

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • IV Start
  • Telemetry
• Certifications Preferred: NIH Stroke Certification
• Past EPIC Experience: Strongly preferred
• On-call Requirement: No
• Floating Requirement: Yes, will float to all medical units, including renal, oncology, and neuro

Additional Information

• Guaranteed Hours: Yes, 3 shifts per 13 weeks

• Competency Exams: Unit-specific competency exams required, must be updated annually.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit Mask: Required fit testing for N95 masks.
• Vaccinations:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination required.
  • Flu vaccination documentation required.
• Drug Testing: Required within 1 year of start, must include specific panels.

Background and Reference Checks

• Criminal Background Check: Required within 6 months of start.
• References: Two professional references required, preferably from supervisors within the last year.

Education and Licensing

• Education Verification: Required for all candidates.
• State License Verification: Primary source verification of professional license is required.
