Job Opportunity: LVN / LPN - Step Down Unit

Location: Middletown, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assignment in Progressive Care Unit (Step Down)
• 3x12 hour shifts
• Floating required: Traveler will float within specialty cluster or to medically appropriate assignments including High Risk Respiratory Unit/COVID.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
• Floating may include multiple campuses within a 15-mile radius.
• Must pass an online EKG Tele Competency Assessment prior to starting.
• License not required at time of application but must be obtained before contract start.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year
• Experience working with High Risk patients
• BLS issued by American Heart Association

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

Health and Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness to work and free of communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with annual questionnaire if past positive)
• Drug screening within 12 months (9 or 10 panel including marijuana) and lab work within 72 hours of contract signing
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
• 7-year criminal background check and other standard background screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years, including 1 manager/supervisor/charge nurse
• Current resume/application required
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year

Additional Notes

• Travelers are first to float at employer’s discretion and may be assigned to various units as needed
• Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts or contract with notice due to census changes
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives

This position is ideal for experienced LVN / LPN nurses comfortable with floating and working in a progressive care/step down environment.
