Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU Float)

Job Description

• Position primarily supports Med Surg with floating required.
• Work schedule: 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee.
• Preferred start date: March 9 (may consider March 23).

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Travel experience strongly preferred (prior travel experience is not explicitly required but highly favored).
• Epic electronic health record experience strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas.
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA accepted.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA accepted, if applicable.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable.
• Background check within 1 year of start, including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender.
• Drug screening (negative 9 panel) within 1 year of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract).
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent within 1 year).
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required (exempt if born before 1957).
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination required.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox required.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - May 31) or facility-specific exemption.
  • COVID vaccination documentation required.
• Competency exams as applicable by profession.
• Orientation and facility-specific documents must be completed prior to start.

Additional Notes

• All Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be included at submission or prior to accepting the offer.
• Candidate must be agreeable to floating within the unit.
• Two professional references required within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Skills checklist must be updated annually.

This position is ideal for an experienced RN with Med Surg and PCU float experience who is comfortable with floating and has strong clinical skills, including Epic EHR familiarity. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
