- Mileage Reimbursement: Up to 35 miles radius at federal IRS standard mileage rate
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Absences greater than 7 days require approval
Required Certifications
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) Certification
- If not already certified, a 4-hour de-escalation course will be provided during the first week; failure to pass may result in contract cancellation

Health & Safety Requirements

- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Fit mask test required within 1 year (specific N95 masks accepted; PAPR accommodations available if needed)
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (negative result required)
- Flu vaccine required year-round with exemptions accepted
- Immunizations required:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer (history of disease not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Declination, series, or titer acceptable
Background & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within one year of start
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for NM Department of Health clearance (second set of fingerprints required for Home Health travelers due to potential child visits)
- Education verification required (diploma or transcript acceptable if 3rd party verification unavailable)
- Social Security card required for verification
- Valid non-local driver’s license required (identification cards not accepted)
- Two professional references within three years of hire
- Work history verification for at least 3 years required
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam) required for certain units; not specifically required for this Home Health role but may be relevant if assigned to other units
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) as applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
- UNMH Traveler Compliance Form must be completed
Additional Notes
- No locals accepted within 75 miles
- No RQI certifications accepted
- OT after 48 hours on all contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025
- Candidates must bring original New Mexico RN license onsite for display
- Facility is not near public transportation; candidates must have reliable transportation arrangements
