Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Kerrville, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty

• Radiology / Cardiology
• Role involves scrub and monitor duties for cardiology, vascular intervention, and interventional radiology (IR) cases.
• Experience with Impella and thrombectomy preferred.
• On-call requirement: 10-12 days per month.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty required.
• First-time travelers are eligible (no prior travel experience required).

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• State License
• ARRT R or RCIS (either one required, not both)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• I9 verification
• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• E-Verify
• Background checks including 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification
• Professional references: 2 required within 3 years of start
• Skills checklist: required annually

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
• Vaccinations or documented declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • TB test or chest X-ray (negative results required, time sensitive)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or above)
• Competency Exam as applicable (must score 80% or above)

Additional Notes

• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required annually
• Various certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI may be required depending on unit or specialty specifics

This position is suitable for cath lab techs with solid cardiology/interventional experience looking for a travel contract in Texas with a moderate on-call schedule.
