Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)

Location: Akron, Ohio
Contract Length: 12 weeks (interpreted from contract_length: 12)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Schedule: 4x12 hour shifts
Facility Floating: May float as needed to other nearby facilities within the system


Required Qualifications

  • Credentials: CRT or RRT accepted
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years as an RRT (highest required years of experience)
  • Licenses: Ohio RRT license must be in hand at time of application
  • Certifications:
    • NBRC certification (current)
    • BLS (AHA preferred, RQI acceptable but non-RQI preferred)
    • ACLS (AHA only; required for RRT in Emergency Department)
    • Additional certifications required if working with pediatric/neonatal patients (RRT-NICU): PALS, NRP
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Valid government-issued photo ID must be carried on assignment
  • Criminal background check required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Transcript/Diploma verification required
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed ASAP (cannot pend at start)
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
  • HIPAA acknowledgment form required and must be updated annually
  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions
  • Fit mask test required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (specific approved mask models listed)
  • Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold TB test/T-Spot within 6 months of start; annual renewal required
  • TB questionnaire required if history of positive TB test
  • Immunization or titer documentation required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; annual renewal required
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
  • Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar specialty area
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required; must be updated annually

Orientation and Onboarding

  • Completion of online training modules (4-5 hours) prior to start is mandatory; modules must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser
  • Candidates will pick up their badge from the facility prior to or on the first day of assignment
  • TB results must be uploaded to the onboarding system to advance through modules
  • Fingerprinting may be completed onsite on the first day if agency results are pending, subject to facility approval
  • Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) will complete fingerprinting onsite as part of onboarding

Additional Notes

  • Candidates may be required to float to other facilities within the system as needed
  • All work history, including prior work with the system, must be included in the application
  • Requests for time off and scheduling must be communicated during submission and interview
  • PAPRs will not be supplied by the client for failed fit tests; agencies must supply if needed
  • Candidates failing fit tests due to facial hair must shave or submit a religious/medical exemption for approval

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with current Ohio licensure and required certifications, ready to work a travel contract with a reputable healthcare system.

Cleveland Clinic, the main campus, cuts the staff when adding more work. This is very disorganized and harmful to the rest of the staff.
