Required Certifications

  • California Mammography Certification (CA Mammo)
  • ARRT Mammography (ARRT M)
  • ARRT Radiography (ARRT R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or AHA RQI accepted (required for all travelers)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (check unit-specific requirements)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA required for certain units (check unit-specific requirements)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/AAP Advanced Learner (check unit-specific requirements)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification) – verify with unit job description

Experience & References

  • Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required

Licensure & Background Checks

  • Monthly updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • California Medi-Cal Search required within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Fit Mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
  • Tdap vaccine or declination required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility standards
  • Annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB
  • Immunity or vaccination/declination for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (per CDC vaccine schedule)
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start and updated annually (Marijuana/THC panel no longer required starting 1/1/24)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination required for 2025-2026 flu season (no exemptions accepted for registry/per diem)
  • COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination form required

    • Meal Break Policy

  • Home Health candidates must sign Home Health Acknowledgement and provide proof of auto insurance
  • Flu policy and COVID-19 attestation required
  • Some units require signing a Float Policy (ICU, NICU, Med Surg)
  • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate required (including California-specific update every 2 years)

Competency Exams

  • Specialty competency exam required, must be updated every 3 years with a minimum score of 80%
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (e.g., Cath Lab, PICU)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must submit references to be considered
  • Gaps in employment over 30 days must be explained
  • Resume or application must include all cities and states lived/worked in past 7 years
