Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tyler, Texas
Specialty: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical ICU
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Days, 3x12 hours
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2
  • Float: Yes, to units of equal or lesser acuity
  • Weekend Coverage: 6 shifts per 6 week period
  • Number of Rooms: 12
  • Level I Trauma experience: Preferred
  • Charting System: Epic experience required

Experience Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have prior travel experience)

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI - as applicable

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 verification
  • Driver’s License/State ID
  • E-Verify
  • 7-year Background Check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
  • Education Verification (highest level)
  • Fingerprinting (time sensitive for certain locations)
  • State License Verification (primary source)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • Photo for badge
  • Physical Exam within 12 months
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
    • TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
    • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 90 days)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

  • Must not reside in certain Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris)
  • References and employment history verification required internally
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical ICU Registered Nurses with prior travel experience who are comfortable working day shifts with a 1:2 patient ratio in a Level I Trauma preferred environment. Epic charting experience and required certifications must be current.
