Job Details

  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, FCCU, NICU
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually; required for ED, Psych ED, ICUs, Step Down, Med Surg, L&D, Express Care

Competency & Testing Requirements

  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required annually; advanced dysrhythmia required for all RNs; must score at least 80% to pass; 3 attempts allowed before cancellation
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for various units including ICUs, Cath Lab, Med Surg, Tele, PCU, Peds Cath Lab, Psych ER, Radiology, Special Procedures, Step Down, Tele; 3 attempts allowed with remediation required after failures
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for multiple units including ICUs, Cath Lab, Med Surg, Tele, PCU, Peds Cath Lab, Psych ER, Radiology, Special Procedures, Step Down, Tele

Required Background & Health Documents

  • Background check within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, international search if applicable)
  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual renewal required
  • Immunizations:
    • TDAP within last 10 years (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
    • Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted for new candidates)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days required (specific substances listed)
