Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel Position
Location: Salisbury, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position involves delivering radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- The role starts directly in the clinic; no orientation or dimensions required.
- No call, float, or weekend requirements.
- Shift: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour days).
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (Radiation Therapy).
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
- General skills: Adult outpatient care, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, beam modifiers, field shaping.
- Specialty treatment experience: Electron field therapy, respiratory gating/breath hold for left breast.
- Specialty cancer experience: Prostate cancer with seeds/fiducials.
- Dosimetry systems: Electron beam therapy, IMRT.
- Linear accelerator experience: Varian True Beam preferred.
- Patient diagnoses: Radiation therapy delivery, preferably with True Beam experience.
- Unit systems: ARIA.
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- ARRT (T) - Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days covering local, federal, national databases, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree related to profession.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days of start.
- State-specific searches for North Carolina healthcare personnel registry and medical assistance exclusion lists within 90 days of start.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; if past positive TB, physical within 30 days required and updated annually.
- Fit mask testing required (N95 or PAPR training).
- Immunizations and titers required: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination), Flu vaccination or approved exemption.
- TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray within 5 years and physician-signed TB questionnaire within 30 days of start.
Additional Requirements
- Radiation badge required for radiation therapists.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
- Color blind testing within 1 year via Relias.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and confidentiality agreements prior to start.
- Photo for badge (passport style, white background, business attire) required before start.
- Completion of Novant Health Non-Novant Worker Orientation modules (up to 8 hours).
- Candidates must complete the Novant Corp ID process and log into I-Learn within 24 hours of receiving credentials.
Notes
- No return to origin (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation.
- Locals accepted with rate difference.
- Scrubs color: Royal Blue.
This position is ideal for experienced radiation therapists with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week contract in a clinic setting with no call or weekend requirements.
