Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Kansas City, Missouri
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Unit ratio is 1:5, with rare flex to 1:6
• Fast-paced 24-bed intermediate unit serving intermediate medical and surgery overflow patients
• Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities
• Charge RN assignments may be required
• Holiday shifts may be required
• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• No on-call requirement
• No block schedule accommodation
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks if regular shifts are canceled

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Telemetry experience

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Telemetry monitoring
• Rapid response support
• IV insulin protocols
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Ports, blood products, central lines, peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and starting IVs
• Heparin protocols and PCA
• CVA care
• Oxygen delivery support, including nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care and wound vac management

• Insulin drip titration
• Renal failure
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacements
• Surgical drains
• Tracheostomy management
• Eye surgeries
