Job Overview

Travel/contract RN role in an outpatient clinic setting
Day shift: 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
13-week contract
Location: New Haven, Connecticut

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Connecticut
Ambulatory Care experience within the last year
2 years of Ambulatory Care experience
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
ONS/ONCC
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Outpatient clinic experience
Phone triage experience

Role Responsibilities

Telephone triage
In-basket handling
Assisting providers during clinic visits
Supporting new and return patient visits
Providing pre-op/post-op teaching and chemotherapy teaching

Patient Population

Breast oncology
Breast surgery
Plastic surgery

Pros

Breaks became more strict towards the end of my contract. I didn’t care for management but the RNs i worked with on nights were great. You will only work L&D, never floated anywhere. Felt like with it being a teaching hospital providers were nice and patient with you most times.

Cons

Don’t have much of a say with scheduling. Their protocols for a few things are weird and different than a lot of hospitals. Can be pretty busy, may be coupled sometimes but not excessively.
