Observation Unit Registered Nurse

Travel/Contract
Day shift, 3x12 hours
36 hours per week

Unit Details

Observation Unit
Mixed unit environment with PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg travelers
Adult and geriatric patients
Telemetry setting
1:4 patient ratio on all shifts
Fast-paced unit with an 18–24 hour length-of-stay goal

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Experience in Charge roles
Intermediate medication management experience (heparin, nitro, cardizem, insulin, etc.)
Stroke experience
Cardiology experience
Orthopedics experience
Trauma experience
Oncology experience
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

Observation medicine experience

Schedule Requirements

Every other weekend
No block scheduling
Greater than 7 days of requested time off requires management approval

Floating

May float within scope to meet facility needs
May float between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities
Float units may include Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation

Additional Notes

First-time travelers accepted
Local travelers within 50 miles are not accepted
EPIC charting required
Free parking
Navy blue scrubs
Two-week notice will be given for schedule changes when possible
