Job Overview

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
At least 2 successful contracts (prior traveler experience; unit will not accept first-time travelers)
Management of dysrhythmias

Schedule and Assignment Details

1:6 patient ratio
Every other weekend required
Floating required to other MedSurg/Telemetry areas, including possible COVID care units
Preferred scheduling
Block scheduling is not guaranteed
RTO after booking is not allowed

Unit Focus

Primarily cares for stroke patients
Also cares for possible neurosurgery patients and other neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and subdural hematomas
Epilepsy Monitoring Unit training is provided, but it typically does not affect travelers

Additional Notes

Navy scrubs required
Unit orientation is 36 hours
