Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location: Huntingdon, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Requirements

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification

Required Documentation & Background Checks

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled in last 7 years
  • Nationwide and Pennsylvania state sex offender registry checks
• EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
• HHS/OIG exclusion list check
• Education verification (transcripts, diplomas, or third-party verifications)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (PA Childline) within 1 year of start
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• 2 professional references within the last 3 years

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years (declination accepted with form)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (mask required if declined during flu season)
• COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required at some facilities)

Competency & Training Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (passing score required)
• Annual skills checklist
• Crisis management certifications (for Emergency Department):

  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (annual renewal required)
• Facility-specific training and orientation packets must be completed prior to start
• Bloodborne pathogen quiz must be completed before start

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge must be passport style, no filters
• No onsite classes available for crisis management certifications; online training accepted
• Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start date
• Candidates must be willing to work night shifts including every other weekend and holidays
