CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Once every fifth week
• Call Requirement: Yes, 5-8 shifts depending on staffing
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Float Requirement: No
• Modalities Covered: Invasive Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Vascular
• Experience with procedures including: Stents, Ablations, Paracentesis, Peripherals (Upper and Lower Extremities), Abdomen and Pelvic, Vascular Studies, Venous Access, Hemodynamic Monitoring
• Required Equipment Experience: Phillips single-plane imaging system
• Preferred Equipment Experience: Siemens, Bi-Plane imaging systems
• Scrubs: Supplied by facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Experience with invasive cardiology procedures, electrophysiology procedures, stent placement, ablation procedures, paracentesis, peripheral vascular procedures, upper and lower extremity imaging, abdominal imaging, and pelvic imaging
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • County, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Federal Extended, FACIS Level 3 checks
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Competency exams (medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core parts I-III) required within 12 months of start and updated annually, with minimum 80% score
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by facility but required by placement agency)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted with documentation; mask required if unvaccinated

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit (not specified for this role)
