Job Opportunity: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - SNF

Location

Santa Monica, California

Employment Type

Travel/Contract

Contract Length

13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks with possibility to extend)

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
Occasional weekends preferred but not required
40 hours per week

Specialty & Unit

Therapy/Rehabilitation
Focus on Long-Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Rehab, Post Acute Care, Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) with experience in Tracheostomy/Ventilator care

Experience Requirements

New graduates are welcome to apply
Preference for candidates with Post Acute or Acute care experience

Licensure & Certifications

California State License required for COTA
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (preferably from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Experience with Net Health and Point Click Care systems required

Required Documentation & Compliance

Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Emergency Contact Form prior to start
Background check within 1 year including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender registry; updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific protocols for past positive TB)
Immunization or titer proof for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella (Chicken Pox)
9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Skills checklist annually
References:
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care (not required for non-clinical roles)

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in California

Additional Notes

Locals and first-time travelers are accepted
No prior travel experience required
