Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Inpatient Rehab

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)

Job Description

• Work Monday to Friday with no weekends or on-call duties.
• Provide physical therapy assistance in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital environment.
• Patient care setting with potential exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in Arkansas.
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience within the last year.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current BLS certification.

Physical Demands

• Must meet physical requirements to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
• Frequent standing and walking.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 250 pounds).
• Repetitive hand movements and fine motor skills.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year background check required within six months of start; annual updates required for direct candidates.
• Education verification.
• Sex offender and state-specific criminal history checks within 30 days of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.

Health & Immunizations

• Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required.
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted.
• Seasonal influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (October 1 - March 31).
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation or exemption/declination notification.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Review and comply with personal appearance and dress code policies.
• Complete new employee and contract personnel pre-screening compliance checklist.
• Complete TB questionnaire regardless of TB test result.
• Complete required orientation and compliance forms prior to start.

References & Work History

• Two professional references required within 3 years of start.
• Work history verification for the past 2 years.
• Resume or employment application copy required.

• This position is safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
