Job Opportunity: Pediatric CVOR Tech

Shift Details
- Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Call required
- Blocked scheduling available
- Work primarily in the general OR starting at 3 PM
Unit Information
- Labor and Delivery with typical OB cases including:
- Cesarean Section
- Dilation and Curettage
- Dilation and Evacuation
- Tubal Ligation
- Cerclage
- Non-OB high-risk cases such as:
- Accreta/Chyst
- Laparoscopic ectopic
- Cystoscopy
- Average daily surgical case volume: 6
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CVOR Technologist, with experience within the last year
- NBSTSA certification must be in hand to submit
- BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Required skillset:
- Sterilization experience
- Scrub experience
- High-Level Disinfection (HLD)
- Decontamination experience
- Scope/Probe reprocessing
Certifications (AHA accepted unless otherwise noted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable per unit (verify requirements prior to start)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including:
- 7 years of residence/work history
- SSN Trace
- County, Statewide, National Sex Offender checks
- FACIS Level III
- Education verification
- International search if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above)
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months with approved respirators (3M N95 models or Honeywell N95)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted; history not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended (preferred but not required)
- Tuberculosis screening within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT)
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31); declinations not accepted
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific compliance and confidentiality forms prior to start
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment including HIPAA compliance
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
- Color blindness testing (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
- Unit competency exam required
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required)
Notes
- Perioperative/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from certain state license restrictions effective 11/30/24.
- On-site fit testing is available only as a last resort and requires prior approval.
- Mandatory facility-specific training modules may apply depending on the role and facility.
- Floating is not required for this position.
