Job Opportunity: PT Inpatient Rehab

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), approximately 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40 hours


Job Description

  • Provide approximately 6 hours of direct patient treatment daily; remaining time allocated for documentation, team conferences, and related duties.
  • Exact shift start time alternates between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Louisiana
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID matching all candidate documentation.
  • Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including Social Security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, federal databases, and FACIS Level 3. Must be updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date).
  • Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days.
  • Skills checklist updated within 12 months of start and annually thereafter.
  • Competency exams (Medication Test/Pharmacology, Core Parts I-III) required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
  • Annual TB questionnaire and recent TB testing (Qgold/Tspot or 2-step skin test within 3 months of start).
  • Immunization requirements:
    • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (declinations accepted with appropriate forms).
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if titers are low.
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start.
    • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer is low.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually between October 1 and March 31 (declinations and exemptions accepted with proper documentation).
  • Physical exam not required by employer but may be required by placement agency within 12 months of start.

Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) only.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit assignment (check unit-specific requirements).
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card accepted; may be completed onsite within 30 days of start if not already certified.
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment; verify with specific unit description.

Additional Information

  • Must comply with employee appearance policy.
  • Masking required at all times for unvaccinated candidates.
  • Documentation and credential verifications must be completed and approved prior to or within 30 days of start date.
