Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: CT Tech specializing in Pediatrics
- Shift: Friday to Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- On-call: One scheduled day requested
- Caseload: Approximately 1.5 patients per tech per day
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to other buildings (not to sister facilities)
- Radius Rule: 50 miles; local candidates accepted
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients and strong pediatric skills
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Experience in a Children's Hospital setting
- Experience and knowledge of Siemens equipment
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
- ARRT certification for Radiologic Technologist (CT)
Additional Requirements
- Must complete a comprehensive background check including 7 years of history
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/booster documentation
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (during flu season)
- Physical exam updated annually attesting ability to meet job demands
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules before start
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required before start
Work Environment
- Facility is a teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Teal top and black bottom
- Parking available with nominal cost for nights and weekends
Important Notes
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require assignment to emergency response teams
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- All required documents and certifications must be current and uploaded prior to start
- Radiation badge processing may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start patient care without it
