Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Multimodality Tech (CT/X-Ray), may include other duties assisting operations within the Emergency Department/Urgent Care.
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM). Specific workdays to be determined.
• On-call: No
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, depending on established schedule.
• Floating: No floating between units or facilities required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Multimodality Tech (CT/X-Ray) / CT Tech
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT (CT) certification

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital setting.
• Charting system: Epic.
• Parking: Free with pass provided at start.
• Scrub colors: Black and Teal.
• Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Must be completed within 90 days of start.
  • Includes SSN trace, statewide and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable.
• Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification is pending.
• Physical Exam: Must be completed within 90 days of start, confirming ability to work without restrictions.
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Immunizations & Health:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required.
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray.
  • COVID vaccination highly preferred; if declined, a declination form must be completed.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted.
  • Other immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B as per facility policy.
• Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety virtual questionnaire.
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required, including at least one from the unit of assignment.
• Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified.

Additional Notes

• Orientation: Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions required prior to start.
• Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light background required.
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Local Radius: 60 miles.
• Locals: Accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• Block Scheduling: Not applicable.

Certifications & Training (Additional Preferred/Required)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for Emergency Room.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as applicable.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) not required for ER RNs.
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ER.
• IV Therapy certification required for select LPNs if applicable.

Important Compliance Reminders

• All certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start.
• Radiation badge process may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start clinical duties without it.
• Licensure hits or issues must be approved by the facility.
• Education and licensure verifications must be completed prior to start.
• All required documents and modules must be completed before orientation; failure to do so may result in being sent home.

This position is ideal for a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, appropriate certifications, and licensure in South Carolina, seeking a travel contract in an acute care hospital setting with night shifts.
