Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room with experience in circulating and scrubbing. The role involves working in a main OR setting covering specialties such as General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in Operating Room nursing (higher value confirmed)
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
Patient Population
- Adults to Geriatrics
Work Setting & Responsibilities
- Circulate and Scrub experience required (hard stop)
- Unit uses Epic, Pyxis, and 2 Da Vinci XI Robots
- Average daily census: 35 patients across 16 rooms
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Floating is rare
- Call requirements: 7-8 calls in a 6-week schedule plus 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts
- Weekend shifts average 2-3 per contract period
- Holiday work expected if major holidays fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience working with Geriatric patients
- Circulate and Scrub experience
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer required
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Orientation & Training
- Non-billable orientation hours proportional to contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
- Must review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies

- Locals accepted at the same rate
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Skills checklist and work history verification required, can be pending at start with proof of processing
This position offers an opportunity to work in a technologically advanced OR environment with a diverse surgical patient population. Candidates must be prepared for call and holiday coverage and meet all compliance and credentialing requirements prior to start.
