Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech (EP Lab Tech)
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- Dayshift: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (4x10s)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- No call and no weekends on regular days, but call required for some shifts
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
- Block scheduling accommodations available
- Locals not accepted (50-mile radius rule)
- Call-offs limited to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment; after that, hours are guaranteed
- Must have IR (Interventional Radiology) experience
- First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Must hold a valid license for Electrophysiology Tech or relevant Radiology/Cardiology discipline as applicable
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only, must be current at start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military only, must be current at start
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - Required with 3 attempts max to pass with 80% or higher
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam - Must be completed and renewed annually
- NIH Stroke Certification - Must be updated annually
- Tech Certification Verification - Must be current and renewed if expiring at start
- Background Checks: Must have a background check within 6 months of start
- Education Verification: Diploma or transcript required prior to start
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations: Tdap, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days
- Flu vaccine required year-round (exemptions require facility approval)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required but accepted if available
Additional Requirements & Policies
- Must review and sign EP Lab Tech Job Description prior to start
- Must complete facility-specific forms including confidentiality, emergency contact, call-out acknowledgement, and others prior to start
- Photo for badge required (passport-style, professional)
- Return staff policy: Must be gone 1 year before returning as a traveler
- System contract limit: Maximum 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone 6 months before returning
- Staff call-out policy requires making up missed shifts as deemed necessary
- Modules must be completed prior to start (facility will provide instructions)
