Job Opportunity: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Location: Lancaster, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (preferred range 13 - 26 weeks)
Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts

May include occasional weekend coverage and floating

Job Description

Start Date: ASAP
Weekly Work Hours: 36 hours
Cancellation Notice: 14 days

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in California
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, including experience within the last year

Required Certifications & Licenses

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
National Tech Certification as applicable
Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)

Required Health & Compliance Documents

Physical exam within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific guidelines for past positives)
Immunization or titer proof for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

Background checks including 7-year search and annual updates
Emergency contact form required prior to start
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
Competency exams as applicable
Annual skills checklist
Professional references:
- 2 for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
- 1 for per diem non-acute care
