Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

• Work in a 24-bed Emergency Department with a 4 recliner flex area
• Level III Trauma center
• Night shifts with some weekends and holidays required
• Minimal to no Return to Office (RTO) days (must be included on submission)
• Start date approximately 3 weeks from offer
• Possible extension after initial 13-week assignment

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Skills

• Ventilator management
• IV start
• Triage
• Telemetry
• Conscious sedation

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years recent Emergency Department experience required
• Previous travel experience required

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems

• PICIS
• Soarian Clinicals

Dress Code

• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum of 3 years Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Current certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • TNCC
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with ventilator management
• Experience with conscious sedation
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit test completed on site at no cost
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 30 days of start; no PPD accepted
• TB questionnaire within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccine required during flu season unless approved medical/religious exemption

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted)
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• Government-issued photo ID and valid driver's license (color copy required)
• E-Verify or attestation proof
• References: Two recent supervisor/manager level references verified within 12 months
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific HealthStream modules prior to start
• Photo for badge (passport-style, shoulders up, no selfies) required within 24 hours of signing

Additional Notes

• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the assignment location; those within 30 miles preferred
• Fingerprinting requirements apply with a 30-day grace period to obtain results
• Facility-specific forms and agreements may be required and must be completed timely
• Flu vaccination deadline is November 21st for flu season compliance
