Job Opportunity: Urgent Care LVN / LPN
Location: La Verne, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in an urgent care setting with variable start times.
- Expected to work 5 days a week, including weekend rotations, opening and closing shifts.
- May require travel to a sister office within the local area (no out-of-state candidates).
- Responsibilities include blood draws, taking vitals, IV insertion, splinting, workers comp cases, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid LPN / LVN license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience within the last year
- Experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Department (ED), Clinic, and Acute Care settings
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other)
- Catheter Certification
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required
Additional Requirements
- Must be local to the area (no out-of-state candidates).
- Solid black scrubs required as dress code.
- Must be able to work weekend rotations and variable shifts.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check covering the last 7 years, including social security address check (last 15 years), national criminal search, sex offender search, education verification, and other standard screenings.
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 30 days of start; no instant tests accepted.
- Physical exam within 12 months clearing employee to work without restrictions.
- Immunization and health document requirements including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B and C status
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption documentation
- Fit mask testing for specific approved masks or onsite PAPR training if needed.
Competency and Training
- Annual medication/pharmacology competency exam with a minimum score of 80%.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation packets and training modules prior to start.
- Facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including privacy, security, timekeeping, and standard of care acknowledgments.
References and Work History
- Two professional references required, including one from the most recent experience.
- Complete work history for the past 15 years must be provided, including locations and any gaps explained.
